Methodology

Primary Data Sources

We synthesize three public datasets:

• Transfermarkt — player profiles, club history, appearance records, and market valuations. Refreshed weekly.
• EA Sports FC 26 — standardised 1–99 attribute profiling for every player included in the 2025/26 game edition.
• International Football Results (RSSSF-derived) — 49,000+ international fixtures since 1872, filtered to Japan senior matches.

Metric Definitions

“Market value” is the Transfermarkt valuation in euros. “FC 26 overall” is a weighted composite of the six macro attributes (Pace, Shooting, Passing, Dribbling, Defending, Physical). “Senior caps” counts only full Japan A-team matches.

Processing & Quality

Data is imported via a deterministic sync pipeline (UPSERT on primary keys — no duplication). FC 26 rows are linked to Transfermarkt records by exact name match; unmatched rows still render as FC 26-only profiles. All figures are as-of the last sync; see each profile’s “Updated” date.
